Wuyi yancha tea is mainly produced in the Wuyi Mountain area in northern Fujian Province. Wuyi yancha tea is the best oolong tea in China and one of the top ten famous teas in China. Wuyi yancha tea has a long history and reflects great local characteristics.
Wuyi Yancha is the ancestor of Oolong tea. It originated in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. It was formed by a special process under special microclimate conditions and suitable varieties. Fresh leaves require the growth of new shoots to be fully ripened. It is commonly known as open-face picking. After enzymatic oxidation, the green leaves have been non-enzymatically oxidized to form semi-fermented teas.
The shape is curved, and the color is dark brown or dark green, or sandy green, or blue-brown, or tinge. The strips are tightly knotted, or thin or strong, and the soup is orange-yellow to golden, clear and bright. The scent is floral and fruity, while Rui is strong and long, and clear is secluded, or like peach, orchid, osmanthus, frankincense, etc. The taste is mellow, smooth, sweet and refreshing, with a unique "rock rhyme". The bottom of the leaf is soft and bright, with green leaves and red borders, or red spots on the leaf margins. Different tea plant species also have different characteristics.
