Tarry Lapsang Souchong, also known as China Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, referred to a smoked black tea (Camellia sinensis) that is originally from the Wuyi Shan region in Fujian, China. It is distinct from other types of tea, as the leaves are traditionally smoke-dried over pinewood fires, imparting a distinctive exotic thick tarry smoky pine wood flavor.
